my favorites.

Dear Carole, Joni, Billie, Ella, and Carly,

You got to get up every morning with a smile on your face and show the world all the love in your heart. Then people gonna treat you better, you're gonna find, yes you will, that you're beautiful as you feel. Carole King proverbs.

You gal pals get me through the day. I never get bored of you. I think you make me feel strong. My mornings are swingin', my afternoons filled with poetry, and my nights calmer than they should be. You're the perfect soundtrack for every moment. I'm sure you have all the answers to my problems somewhere in all of those words.

You're practically perfect in every way. Can we hang out together?

Love,

Danie

Mark my words; something in my future will be named Joni Mae. It might be a small French bulldog.

  1. I think we may be kindred spirits. These women got me through my pivotal teenaged years. I have so much love for all of them. Someone told me I sang like Joni one time (they were very drunk) and I actually cried.
In other news, I spent the better portion of an evening screaming at my knitting needles until I finally figured out the Brioche stitch. I am now the proud owner of the circle scarf. Perseverance for the win.

    2. I was SO angry because it wasn't working even a little bit. So once I finally figured it out I stayed up way too late and finished it. My boytoy was not impressed, mostly because every time he tried to be nice to me while I yelled at my knitting needles at 4 am I flailed around so much I nearly stabbed him.
I am now making him one in apology. Although less circle-y.
      hey danie, you're rad.
